Once you've decided to remodel your kitchen or bath, the enormity of the project sets in. Building a new home entails even more
decision making. Unlike buying a car, which is basically complete after you've chosen a make or model, your remodeling project will be more of an evolution than an event. Custom cabinetry projects get more
involved because of the number of different products (cabinets, appliances, floor and wall coverings, lighting and plumbing fixtures, counters, etc.) as well as the number of options and color choices within each
product category. The whole process can become quite overwhelming.
That's where working with an experienced Kitchen and Bath Designer can help ease the stress and anxiety that usually accompanies these projects. So where do you start? First, gather information
about what styles and products you like.
Use kitchen and bath magazines as well as remodeling magazines to find pictures of what you like (as well as what you don't like.) You can use these pictures to help you and your designer create the project you envision.
It is important to establish a budget
so that your designer can help steer you towards products that will allow you to stay within it. Just like houses, custom cabinetry projects come in all shapes, sizes and prices, so it's important to know approximately how much you want to invest before you start.
